Commercial Tail Lift Repairs

If you operate, or are responsible for, a vehicle which is fitted with a tail lift, it is important that you are aware of the health and safety issues which pertain to the operation and maintenance of such equipment.

As an item of lifting equipment, any tail lift on a work vehicle is subject to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations, known as LOLER.  LOLER stipulates that every tail lift should be thoroughly examined at least twice a year to ensure that it does not present a health and safety risk.  If the tail lift is found to be damaged or worn and in a dangerous condition, it should not be used until proper repairs can be effected.

Midland Truck Tech are a mobile HGV repair service operating throughout the East Midlands, and we have extensive experience in all aspects of goods vehicle inspection and repair.  This includes commercial tail lift repairs, be the fault due to damage or wear and tear.  We are a mobile service and can perform the tail lift repairs at a time and place convenient to you.  We can also perform on-site LOLER examinations as required.

One of the most common faults on a tail lift is when the fully loaded unit has been lowered onto a kerb.  In these cases, brackets and hinges must be carefully inspected for damage or the unit will be unsafe.  Most other truck tail lift repairs involve electrical faults.
